Voter registration is required, with a residency requirement of at least 28 days prior to the election. Registration forms are available online at MyVote.WI.gov. If registering by mail, please include a copy of your proof of residency and a valid photo ID - typically, a current driver’s license satisfies both requirements if it includes your current address.

Please note: Under current state law, voter registration and absentee voting are not permitted on the Monday before any election. Plan accordingly. Same-day registration is available at the polls on Election Day.

At the Polls

Once it has been determined you are a registered voter, you will be asked to sign the poll book. If you refuse to sign, you will not be allowed to vote.

Absentee Ballot Requests

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing or online at MyVote.wi.gov.

Contact the clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter or apply on line at MyVote.wi.gov. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.

Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail

The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. on the fifth day before the election.  (April 2, 2026)

Voting an absentee ballot in person

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person. Note: Please make an appointment time when the clerk can meet you at the town hall.  Please bring proof of identification with you.

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in person with the clerk is March 24, 2026.  The last day to vote an absentee ballot in person with the clerk is April 5, 2026.

No in-person absentee voting may occur on a legal holiday or the Monday before an election.

The clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place before the polls close. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.

Town Elections

The Town Chair, Supervisors, Clerk and Treasurer are elected in April of odd-numbered years and serve a two-year term. Candidates for these positions are nominated by town residents at the town caucus, which is held in January of odd numbered years. All town residents are invited to nominate persons for these positions at the caucus. The date for caucus is set at the December Town Board meeting in even numbered year.
